Corporate Clothing Cape Town | Layering Guide

Choose a coordinated team wardrobe that works across indoor meetings, travel and outdoor event duties.

Build a small wardrobe with distinct jobs

Start with a base garment and add a layer only where the role needs it. A polo can suit an active event team, a business shirt may suit a presentation role, and an outer layer gives the wardrobe another option. Keep the palette connected through garment colour and logo contrast. This creates a family of outfits without forcing the same fabric and silhouette on every job.

Check the actual performance specification

Do not read weather resistance, breathability or warmth into a product photograph. Inspect the listing and ask for clarification if an outer layer is described only as a jacket. A softshell is not automatically waterproof. Consider how the garment will sit over the selected base layer and check whether the size chart assumes room for layering.

Approve the complete outfit

Review the logo on both garments before ordering. A chest mark can be hidden by an open outer layer, while very large decoration can disrupt a restrained wardrobe. Check placement, colour contrast and care requirements together. For Cape Town deliveries, provide a complete destination and required handover date; the team will confirm the dispatch plan rather than assuming a local collection point.

Consider indoor presentation as well as outdoor cover

A wardrobe may be photographed at a registration desk, worn during travel and then used in a meeting room. Look at the outfit with the outer layer both open and closed. Check whether a shirt collar sits comfortably with the jacket neckline and whether contrasting sleeve colours create the appearance you want. A coordinated outfit should work without requiring every garment to be worn at once. Ask staff to try the actual combination if the fit across shoulders and sleeves is important.

Keep the range simple enough to replenish

Choose a core colour and a manageable number of approved styles. Each additional colour, cut and decoration position adds another item to monitor during a later top-up. Keep role differences purposeful and document them in the allocation sheet. Ask for the current availability of the complete size range, not just a sample size seen online. Where a product is seasonal or stock is limited, establish how an alternative will be approved before your team relies on it as a permanent uniform.
